I was born in Poland in 1976 and have been living in Norway since 2002. With my educational background in Humanities, I have always had a special interest in the significance of colours in literature. The way in which colour interacts and weaves its way into the human spirit, awakening emotions and reflecting our inner feelings, has always been a source of my fascination, and was the catalyst that began my work in graphic arts.
I first began creating graphic arts in 1995, showing that the combination of even the five most basic colours of blue, green, red, black and white can create a variety of interesting effects. In my later paintings, I explored and played with the full spectrum of colours to show how different combinations juxtaposed with each other can provide a seemingly endless number of nuances in meaning and interpretation.
For me, inspiration may come from just about anywhere: What starts off as just a splash or a stain on the canvas may end in a kaleidoscope of complex patterns. I think that we are surrounded by so many incredible compositions and colourful combinations of colour that it would be almost impossible to not notice them and be inspired by them.
Painting on glass is another passion. Many of the creations are based on something abstract, though I also base much of my work on more recognisable ornamental patterns. These paintings manage to conjure up three dimensional, convex shapes that reflect light in such a playful and inviting way that one is tempted to touch and feel the painting to confirm one’s sensual anticipation. I hope that all of my paintings have an original character to them and create both an original and unique style to your interior.
